Mr Jowett operated on my deformed hallux valgus and recovery has been straightforward. During all the consultations he inspired confidence and took time to properly describe the procedure to take place to ensure I fully understood what was involved. He encouraged questions and fully addressed these. I felt confident that his competence and experience would result in successful surgery. 'Approachable' is a further word I would use to describe my positive experience. I would strongly recommend him to others for foot and ankle surgery.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been referred to Mr Jowett for the reconstruction of my Achilles. As a result of his expert knowledge and surgical skills the operation and post-op recovery have been a complete success. I am indebted to him for his care and attention. A special mention to Catherine, Mr Jowett’s secretary, for her kind and super efficient communication throughout. Big thank you and respect to team Jowett.

Mr Jowett was fantastic at breaking down all the issues with my foot into language that I could understand. He is very personable and positive and gives you realistic expectations. Before, during and after my operations he would answer any questions to put my mind at rest. The scars where he operated were very neat and have healed superbly. I would like to thank Mr Jowett and the team throughout my whole experience has been amazing.

My son was referred to Mr Jowett at YDH following a “sprained” ankle which following an X-ray review turned out to be a fracture. The fracture was unusual for a child. After the review I had been told that there was a possibility of an operation which clearly shocked and worried me greatly. Mr Jowett phoned me, clearly explaining the X-ray and making me feel completely informed whilst also reassuring me. He suggested a scan to look more closely at the fracture. Following this, luckily no op was needed. My son was in a cast for 6 weeks and during that time he had the ankle re-x-rayed to make sure it was healing correctly which was important given his age. He even came into see him whilst having his cast on, something I would not expect of a busy consultant of this calibre. We saw Mr Jowett on numerous occasions and each time he was extremely personable, friendly and explanatory. On one occasion he even showed myself and my son the X-ray and clearly showed us the actual fracture. He got it emailed to me so my son could show his classmates too! A nice touch especially for a child! Months later we had a follow up with another X-ray to finally check and all was well. The whole process was utterly excellent. Every apt was on time, we were personally seen and kept informed. His clinic was very well organised especially given this COVID situation. One thing that struck me through out this experience was that Mr Jowett was extremely thorough, leaving no stone unturned and because of this I had every faith in him as the excellent consultant he is. I cannot express how grateful I was to him from a very worried mum’s perspective and was one of the best consultant experiences I have had in my life time, and I have had quite a few! A 5 star service that has left me very confident in him and the NHS - thank you.
